Villach firefighters rescue kitten trapped in car engine

The Villach main fire station responded to an unusual emergency in the Warmbad district of Villach after a young kitten became trapped in the engine compartment of a parked car. A passerby heard the animal meowing and alerted the vehicle owner, a guest from Slovenia, who was unable to free the animal himself.

To rescue the kitten safely, firefighters had to lift the vehicle using a jack, remove a wheel, and detach parts of the underbody protection. After approximately one hour, the kitten was successfully freed unharmed. Following the rescue, the animal was taken to a local veterinarian, where it was found to be in good health. The owner suspects the kitten may have climbed into the engine compartment while the vehicle was in Slovenia and traveled to Villach unnoticed. The kitten is currently being cared for by a member of the fire department and his partner.
