Villach hosts AlpenArena anniversary and floorball event

Villach is hosting significant sporting events and celebrations. The AlpenArena is marking its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades as a key sports facility in Carinthia. Since its opening in 1995, approximately 450,000 athletes from 18 nations have utilized the arena for training and competitions. Local officials, including Governor Daniel Fellner and Mayor Günther Albel, highlighted the facility's role as an international landmark and its contribution to regional tourism and quality of life.

Additionally, VSV Unihockey is organizing the first ‘Inner City Floorball Event’ at Villach's Rathausplatz on October 17, 2026. The event aims to engage youth and develop an international event series. The program features matches involving youth teams, the Austrian national team, and various clubs such as KAC, FBV Klagenfurt, and Heiligengeist, alongside family challenges and meet-and-greet sessions.
