Villach water rescuers revive woman after cardiac arrest at Ossiacher See

A German nurse on the bike beach at Ossiacher See noticed a woman in a lounge chair suffering a cardiac arrest. She alerted the Villach water rescue team, which was on a break at a nearby bistro. The rescuers, led by Christine Ebert, deployed a defibrillator and oxygen, assisted by an emergency paramedic and a medic. The Sattendorf water rescue also responded as a first‑responder unit.

The woman, a regular guest of the bistro, was successfully re‑animated and is now recovering. Bistro owner Michaela Kopeinig expressed gratitude, and Villach vice‑mayor Sarah Katholnig said the city wishes to thank the rescuer personally for her civil courage.
