Villaciervos and Villajoyosa hold summer festivals in Spain

The small municipality of Villaciervos in Soria province concluded its annual summer festival, blending traditional music, magic shows and archery demonstrations. Organisers highlighted the role of sport, especially field archery, in promoting active tourism and intergenerational participation, aiming to extend visitor stays and support the local economy.

Coastal town Villajoyosa is preparing for its week‑long Moors and Christians festival from July 24‑31. The celebration reenacts the 1538 defence against Barbary pirates, featuring a dramatic beach landing, mock sea battles, historic costumes and brass bands, underscoring the town’s maritime heritage and community pride.
