Villafrechós identified as ancestral home of Jeff Bezos

The village of Villafrechós in Valladolid, Spain, is identified as the ancestral home of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. While Bezos was born in New Mexico, his family history is rooted in this small community of approximately 500 inhabitants.

His grandfather, Salvador Bezos, lived in the village for his first 14 years before emigrating to Cuba in 1920. Bezos reportedly made a private visit to the village in 2011 to explore his family lineage, which dates back to the 18th century. Although the local government has expressed interest in potential Amazon investments or having him serve as a ceremonial figure, there has been no official response from the entrepreneur.
