Villaguay pedestrian killed by bus driver under the influence

A 72-year-old man, identified as Hugo César Andochorqui, died after being struck by a long-distance Mercedes-Benz bus in Villaguay, Entre Ríos. The incident occurred around 1:20 PM on Retamar Street.

The 38-year-old driver of the bus, which was not carrying passengers at the time of the collision, tested positive for alcohol with a level of 1.47 grams per liter of blood. Following the test results, the prosecutor's office ordered the driver's arrest.

Andochorqui was rushed to Santa Rosa Hospital, where medical staff confirmed his death. Scientific police are currently conducting investigations to reconstruct the mechanics of the accident, and an autopsy has been ordered.
