Villahermosa restores historic Holy Week Monument
The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha has contributed to the restoration of the Holy Week Monument in Villahermosa, a significant artistic, cultural, and religious work located in the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
The restoration project has a total budget of 124,012.98 euros, with the Castilla-La Mancha government providing 50,000 euros. The intervention aims to address conservation issues and prevent the deterioration of pieces that previously prevented the full installation of the monument due to its delicate condition.
José Manuel Caballero, the second Vice President of the regional government, highlighted the monument's scale and complexity. When fully installed, the structure exceeds 12 meters in height and 10 meters in width, featuring eight representations of Jesus, 34 figures, five animals, and 254 angels. The monument will be available for exceptional viewing in the coming days to showcase the completed restoration work.
