Villamar authorities arrest two men for animal cruelty

The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has arrested two men, identified as Francisco Javier “N” and Víctor “N”, for suspected animal cruelty in the municipality of Villamar.

The investigation follows a video circulated on social media on October 6, which depicted a pitbull being tied to the rear of a motorcycle and dragged along a dirt road in the El Platanal locality. According to authorities, Francisco Javier “N” allegedly operated the motorcycle while Víctor “N” signaled the start of the act and filmed the incident.

A veterinary medical examination determined that the animal died from internal bleeding caused by thoracic trauma. The suspects were apprehended by investigation police and remain in custody pending legal proceedings.
