Spain regional authorities implement diverse infrastructure and environmental projects

Various regional municipalities and government bodies in Spain are implementing diverse infrastructure, environmental, and social support programs.

In the Valencia region, the Generalitat has completed emergency works in over 60 educational centers following the 2024 DANA floods, investing more than 21.5 million euros to restore safety and functionality. Meanwhile, Torrevieja has approved a 1.34 million euro project for the rehabilitation of the CEIP Virgen del Carmen school.

Environmental and maintenance efforts include a 50,000 euro project by the Guadalajara City Council to clean and preserve the Henares River banks to prevent flooding. In Andalusia, the ‘Parque Natural’ brand continues to expand, with Cádiz leading the region with 48 certified companies. Additionally, the government has allocated 560,000 euros for infrastructure in Berja and 1.7 million euros to support local farmers affected by storms.

Localities such as Alhama, Lepe, and Almassora are also focusing on school readiness through maintenance works, equipment upgrades, and school supply vouchers for families. Other municipal actions include repairing damaged university classrooms in Jaén and improving playground safety in Simancas.
