Villamayor Municipal Library receives María Moliner Award

The Villamayor Municipal Library has been awarded the 2026 María Moliner Reading Animation Project Award. The prize includes a grant of 2,777.39 euros to support the library's efforts in promoting reading and cultural engagement.

The award, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, recognizes public libraries in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants. The funds are intended to strengthen library collections through the acquisition of new books and publications.

The recognition highlights the work of librarian Manuel Hernández Leal, whose initiatives have helped establish the library as a community hub for learning and cultural participation. The library's programming includes storytelling, oral narration, family theater, and a dedicated reading club.
