Villammare Festival celebrates 25 years of cinema

The 25th edition of the Villammare Festival Film&Friends has concluded in the Gulf of Vibonati, marking a quarter-century of the short film event. Founded by Alessandro Cocorullo, the festival has evolved from a small local gathering into a significant televised event and talent incubator.

Key award winners from this edition include Massimiliano Gallo for Best Film with ‘La salita’, Vincenzo Marra for Best Direction with ‘Era’, and Paolo Sassanelli for Best Short with ‘SofIA’. The festival also honored several prominent figures in Italian entertainment: Martina Stella received the ‘Icona Cinema Italia’ award, Valeria Marini was honored with a Career Award, and Chiara Francini received the ‘Parole di Talento’ award.

The event featured various performances, including a musical set by pianist Danilo Rea, and drew large crowds to the Maria SS. di Porto Salvo square.
