Villanova defeats Bucknell 17-16 in Patriot League road win

No. 18 Villanova secured a 17-16 road victory against Bucknell at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The win marks the Wildcats' first victory as a member of the Patriot League and extends their road winning streak to six games.

Villanova established an early 14-0 lead in the first half, driven by quarterback Pat McQuaide, who threw two touchdown passes to Braden Reed. However, Bucknell mounted a comeback in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns to take a 16-14 lead following a 40-yard field goal by Juan Garanton.

Villanova responded in the fourth quarter with a 65-yard scoring drive. Dominic LeBlanc converted a 22-yard field goal to reclaim the lead with approximately eight minutes remaining. Bucknell failed to respond on their final possession after a 29-yard field goal attempt missed following a two-minute timeout.
