Villardeciervos artisan restores 200-year-old historical balcony

An artisan has completed the piece-by-piece restoration of a two-hundred-year-old balcony in Villardeciervos, Spain. The project, led by woodworker Jorge Folgado, aimed to restore both the functionality and the original appearance of the structure.

The restoration revealed unique architectural details uncommon in the local popular architecture of the Sierra de la Culebraguarda region. These include round-turned balusters and late 18th-century popular Baroque carvings. Additionally, the work identified three molded stone supports, a type of civil masonry that ceased to be used in Zamora at the beginning of the 19th century.
