Villarreal CF considers Mendilibar and Martínez for managerial role

Villarreal CF is reportedly considering coaching changes due to underwhelming domestic performance. Current manager Íñigo Pérez, who joined last summer, has faced criticism following a 12th-place standing in La Liga and a recent 0-0 draw against Elche.

Despite the domestic struggles, the club's recent 3-1 victory over Napoli in the Champions League has provided some stability. However, reports suggest that José Luis Mendilibar and Roberto Martínez have emerged as primary candidates to replace Pérez should the club decide to move in a different direction.

Mendilibar, the former Olympiacos coach, is viewed as a significant project for the club, while Martínez brings extensive Premier League experience from his time with Swansea, Wigan, and Everton, though he has yet to manage in La Liga.
