Villarreal CF monitors Feyenoord midfielder Gjivai Zechiël

Villarreal CF is reportedly monitoring Feyenoord midfielder Gjivai Zechiël as a potential transfer target. The 22-year-old has seen a strong start to the season, contributing a goal and an assist in the opening league matches.

Spanish club Villarreal is currently in negotiations with RSC Anderlecht for Nathan Saliba, who carries a valuation of approximately twenty million euros including bonuses. Should Anderlecht refuse to lower this asking price, Villarreal may pivot to Zechiël, who is viewed as a more affordable alternative.

Zechiël has previously attracted interest from LOSC Lille, who reportedly made a bid of roughly ten million euros that Feyenoord rejected. The Rotterdam-based club considers the midfielder a vital part of their future plans and has offered an improved contract to extend his stay beyond his current 2028 expiration. His current market value is estimated at ten million euros.
