Villarrobledo Hospital implements new ophthalmology technology

The Hospital General de Villarrobledo in Castilla-La Mancha has implemented new diagnostic technology to improve ophthalmological examinations. The introduction of a new visual field analyzer (campímetro) reduces the time required for tests by more than 50%, cutting procedures from up to seven minutes per eye down to approximately two or three minutes.

This technology aims to increase the precision and reliability of results by automating processes and eliminating manual measurements. The equipment facilitates the diagnosis and monitoring of various conditions, including glaucoma, optic nerve diseases, neurological alterations from strokes, tumors, multiple sclerosis, and retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa. Dr. Raquel Carrión, head of the Ophthalmology Service, noted that the device improves daily clinical practice by providing faster and more comfortable examinations for patients.
