Villarrobledo hosts first Castilla-La Mancha Women Writers Meeting

The first Encuentro de Escritoras de Castilla-La Mancha (Castilla-La Mancha Women Writers Meeting) was held at the Caballero del Verde Gabán Municipal Public Library in Villarrobledo. Under the slogan ‘Palabras con nombre de mujer’, the regional event brought together female authors and the public to discuss literature, the creative process, publishing, and access to readers.

The event was organized by the Asociación Cultural Narradoras de Palabras and Librería Alicia, with support from the Diputación de Albacete and the Instituto de la Mujer de Castilla-La Mancha. Provincial deputy José Antonio Calvo participated in the event, emphasizing the importance of decentralizing culture to reach towns and cities outside of major stages.

The Diputación de Albacete is providing 1,500 euros in support for the ‘Territorio Narradoras: Red Literaria y Creación Provincial 2026’ project. This initiative includes author meetings, workshops, family activities, and contests linked to public libraries to promote reading and creation across the province.
