Villaviciosa receives over 170 requests for first Municipal Housing Plan
The Villaviciosa City Council has received more than 170 requests during the public participation phase of its first Municipal Housing Plan. To date, the registry includes 160 requests for housing and 11 for rehabilitation projects.
The initiative aims to identify residential needs within the municipality and establish measures to facilitate access to affordable housing, both for rent and for purchase. The council is working with a specialized consultancy and municipal services to analyze housing demand, resident profiles, and the characteristics of the local residential stock.
The plan intends to leverage funding from the State Housing Plan 2026-2030. Key objectives include reviewing municipal land and properties, studying the potential acquisition of private land or buildings for public housing, and promoting the rehabilitation of existing structures. The participation period remains open until November 9.
