Villazón police investigate unauthorized transport of 2,800 liters of diesel

The Special Force to Fight Crime (FELCC) in Villazón has launched an investigation into the unauthorized transport of approximately 2,800 liters of diesel oil. The fuel was discovered on Wednesday, September 16, during a police checkpoint near the town of Mojo on the Villazón-Tupiza highway.

Authorities intercepted a Sinotruk dump truck carrying 14 drums of 200 liters each. The driver, Norbin Antonio B. M., was unable to present the required authorization from the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) for the transport. The vehicle and driver were taken to the FELCC for further verification.

The driver claimed the fuel was intended for the Cooperativa Minera Aurífera Azulejos de Esmoraca R. L., a claim that investigators and the Public Ministry are currently working to corroborate.
