Villena's KAKV opens exhibition honoring designer Pedro Marco

The Casa de la Cultura de Villena (KAKV) has inaugurated the exhibition ‘El vestido hecho arte. La contribución de Pedro Marco en la Fiesta’. This event serves as the final installment of a series titled ‘Pedro Marco. La huella imborrable del dibujante’, honoring the late painter and designer Pedro Marco (1949-2022).

The exhibition focuses on Marco’s significant contributions to the design of the Moros y Cristianos festivities in Villena. It highlights his work in creating traditional costumes, such as Nazarí, Moroccan, and Almogávar attire for women, following the authorization of female participation in the festival in the late 1980s. Additionally, the collection showcases his long-term design work for the ‘Tuaregs’ group and his extensive graphic output, including posters, magazine covers, and books.
