Villimpenta hosts Interlace Design Forum for technical textiles
The Interlace Design Forum 2026, hosted by the textile company Giovanardi, recently took place in Villimpenta, Italy. The international event brought together over 20 speakers, including academics, designers, and industry professionals, to discuss the intersection of architecture, design, and technical textiles.
Central themes of the forum included eco-design, the circular economy, and the use of technical textiles to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. Discussions also focused on lightweight architecture, modular building envelopes, and how contemporary design needs are reshaping industrial applications.
The event featured the Agorà Design exhibition, which moved from its usual location in Puglia to Villimpenta for this itinerant showcase. The forum was supported by various institutions, including the Order of Architects of Mantova and the Politecnico di Milano, aiming to foster professional networks and industrial collaborations between local businesses and international partners.
