Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Geopark announces Geodisea event

The UNESCO Global Geopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara will host the tenth edition of Geodisea, titled ‘A journey through the history of the Earth’, from November 6 to 29. The event features 44 free activities and 1,100 available spots across four weekends.

The program is divided into four thematic areas: Geosabor (gastronomy), Geocultura (culture), Geoaventura (adventure), and Geoestrellas (astronomical tourism). Activities include hiking routes, cultural proposals, and stargazing experiences designed to showcase the region's geological richness and historical heritage.

This edition coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Geopark's UNESCO designation and occurs ahead of its revalidation process scheduled for spring 2027. The initiative is organized by the APRODERVI Local Action Group, the association of municipalities, Geovilluercas companies, and the Geopark entity, with support from the Cáceres Provincial Council and the Junta de Extremadura.
