Vilnius implements traffic restrictions for All Saints' Day

Vilnius authorities are introducing traffic restrictions and increased public transport services to manage the influx of visitors during the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day period. From October 24 to November 2, parking and stopping will be prohibited near the entrances and bus turnaround points of Rokantiškės, Karveliškių, Kairėnai, and Saltoniškių cemeteries.

Specific traffic diversions will be in place from October 31 to November 2. For example, traffic near Rokantiškės cemetery will be redirected through various local streets, and movement will be restricted to a single direction toward Viršupis gatvė. Near Saltoniškių cemetery, traffic on Ąžuolyno gatvė will be prohibited for all vehicles except public transport on November 1.

Experts warn that the final kilometers leading to cemetery gates often present the greatest challenges due to heavy pedestrian and vehicle congestion. While the three-day long weekend may allow travelers to spread out their visits, drivers should remain cautious of sudden weather changes, such as fog, rain, or frost, which can impact road conditions.
