Vilnius: Masked group holds anti-LGBTQ+ protest on bridge

A group of masked youths, identified as the informal group ‘Tėvynės gynėjai’, held an anti-LGBTQ+ demonstration on a bridge in the Vilkpėdės district of Vilnius. The protesters displayed Lithuanian flags and a poster reading ‘Protest against LGBT ideology’.

Local residents reported concerns regarding potential hate speech and the group’s behavior, noting that some members masked their faces and waved at passing motorists on Tūkstantmečio Street, which could potentially distract drivers. Although a citizen contacted the police regarding the incident, authorities stated that no violations were identified during their investigation.
