Vilnius resident establishes outdoor fitness area in Žirmūnai

A resident of Vilnius has successfully implemented a new outdoor sports area in the Žirmūnai district through the ‘Dalyvauk! Vilnius’ participatory budgeting program. The initiative, proposed by a local resident named Tomas, aims to provide a convenient space for parents and teenagers to exercise in the fresh air near existing children's playgrounds.

The new facility, located on Olimpiečių gatvė, features a gymnastics complex, parallel bars, and safe rubber flooring. The space is designed for easy access, allowing residents to exercise without registration or membership fees. While there were initial community concerns regarding potential vandalism or noise, the area has become a functional part of the local neighborhood's daily life.
