Vilsbiburg farm fire causes millions in damage

A major fire broke out at a farm near Vilsbiburg in Lower Bavaria on Sunday, September 20. The blaze started in a drying hall used for hay storage, which quickly became fully engulfed in flames and eventually collapsed.

Approximately 150 emergency responders, including firefighters and the Technical Relief Agency (THW), worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent farm buildings. While the other structures on the property were saved, the drying hall was completely destroyed. Initial police estimates suggest the property damage amounts to millions of euros.

Five firefighters sustained minor injuries during the operation. No other injuries were reported, and all animals kept on the farm remained unharmed.
