Vimla Pradhan, former Jharkhand minister, passes away

Vimla Pradhan, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former minister in the Jharkhand government, has passed away. She died on Friday night at Samford Hospital in Ranchi while undergoing treatment for declining health.

Pradhan served as a two-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Simdega constituency, winning elections in 2009 and 2014. During her tenure in the state government, she held portfolios for Tourism, Social Welfare, and Women and Child Development. In 2017, she was honored with the ‘Outstanding MLA’ award by a Jharkhand Assembly committee.

Political leaders, including former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, expressed deep grief, describing her death as an irreparable loss to the state and the organization. Munda noted her dedication to public service, particularly her work toward the upliftment of tribal communities.
