Vimmerby Hockey defeats MoDo 3-2 in overtime

Vimmerby Hockey secured their first home win of the season in HockeyAllsvenskan, defeating MoDo Hockey 3-2 in overtime. After falling behind in the second period and trailing again in the third, Vimmerby managed to equalize through Elias Rosén with only 57 seconds remaining in regulation. Captain Anton Carlsson eventually scored the winning goal in overtime.

MoDo head coach Mikael Karlberg expressed significant disappointment following the loss, stating that the team “gave the match away completely” and lacked the necessary desperation and fighting spirit until it was too late. Despite an early lead from August Berg, MoDo struggled to maintain control.

Vimmerby looks to build on this momentum in their upcoming match against Almtuna IS. While Vimmerby has historically struggled against Almtuna, both teams enter the matchup following strong recent performances.
