Vimpyca Foundation opens social housing in Córdoba

The Vimpyca Foundation has inaugurated a new apartment building in the Santa Marina neighborhood of Córdoba, Spain, designed to support families at risk of social exclusion. This project, the foundation's second in the city, consists of 16 furnished one- and two-bedroom apartments offered under a social rental scheme.

Monthly rents for the units will range between 160 and 250 euros. The residency period is initially set for a maximum of two years, serving as a transitional step for residents to improve their socioeconomic stability. Management and social accompaniment will be provided by Cáritas Diocesana, which is currently identifying potential residents based on parish needs.

During the official blessing, Bishop Jesús Fernández described the initiative as a recognition of the right to housing linked to human dignity. The project was completed despite the discovery of archaeological remains during construction, which resulted in the loss of several planned housing units.
