Vinalopó table grape campaign begins with 29 million kg forecast
The 2026 campaign for the DOP Uva de Mesa Embolsada del Vinalopó has officially commenced with the first harvest in Agost, Alicante. The regulatory council anticipates a positive season with production expected to exceed 29 million kilograms, potentially reaching 30 million kilograms if late-season Aledo variety crops stabilize. The quality of the harvest is described as “exceptional.”
The campaign, which runs through late December and early January, aims to recover from a previous season impacted by declining consumption and field prices. Key producing municipalities include Agost, Aspe, Hondón de las Nieves, Hondón de los Frailes, Monforte del Cid, Novelda, and La Romana.
In support of the sector, Brandt has presented advanced plant nutrition and biostimulation solutions to help producers address challenges such as climate variability, plant stress, and rising production costs. The initiative focuses on using agronomic innovation to preserve the unique characteristics and quality of the Vinalopó bagged table grape.
