Vinamilk marks 50 years of growth and technological development
Vinamilk is marking its 50th anniversary, tracing its journey from a post-war enterprise established in 1976 to a global dairy brand. Founded by taking over several milk factories in Southern Vietnam, the company initially faced severe shortages of raw materials, technology, and equipment in a country with a nascent dairy industry.
CEO Mai Kieu Lien, who has been with the company since its early days, highlights the mission to address childhood malnutrition in Vietnam. The company’s history is defined by a drive to master technology rather than remaining dependent on foreign imports. Notable milestones include the 1989 restoration of the Dielac factory and early investments in advanced Swiss welding technology to ensure product safety.
Throughout five decades, Vinamilk has evolved alongside the Vietnamese economy, transitioning from manual repairs and improvised machinery to implementing high-standard quality controls across its entire supply chain.
