McMahon resigned in January 2024 following allegations of sexual misconduct and sex trafficking, which he has denied. The corporate structure shifted as control moved to Ari Emanuel and TKO, a consolidation that occurred after Emanuel pitched the merger of WWE and UFC operations. While the company has continued to grow under new leadership, Meltzer suggests that watching the organization prosper from the outside serves as a significant personal consequence for McMahon.
