Vince Muscat testifies on Daphne Caruana Galizia murder plot
Convicted hitman Vince Muscat, known as Il‑Koħħu, gave detailed testimony in the trial of alleged mastermind Yorgen Fenech over the 2017 assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. Muscat described how weapons were procured, surveillance was conducted and a bomb was prepared, stating that the conspirators were ready to place the device even if Caruana Galizia’s husband or children were inside the car.
He recounted moving the explosive from a garage in Naxxar to another in Santa Venera to bring it closer to Valletta, and named individuals such as Alfred and George Degiorgio as participants in the search for the target vehicle. Muscat also alleged a €150,000 payment linked to the plot and claimed that former officials had informed him of political connections. The defendants have denied the accusations, and the trial continues.
