Vince Russo raises wrestling safety concerns after death of Andy Williams

Vince Russo has expressed concerns regarding safety standards in professional wrestling following the death of Andy ‘The Butcher’ Williams. Russo suggested the industry has drifted from the fundamental rule of protecting opponents in the ring.

The discussion follows the decision by wrestler Ganon Jones Jr. to step away from the sport. Jones, who participated in Williams’ final match at an Enjoy Wrestling event on September 5, reportedly reconsidered his career after his daughter requested he stop following the incident.

Russo noted that the official cause of death for Williams has not yet been established via autopsy. While emergency dispatch audio suggested Williams may have hit his head on a ring post, Russo clarified that no official determination has been made regarding whether that impact caused the medical emergency.
