Vince Young: Netflix documentary explores NFL career and bankruptcy

A new Netflix documentary, ‘Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young’, explores the rise and fall of former University of Texas quarterback Vince Young. The film examines his transition from a celebrated college star to a professional athlete whose NFL career was marked by controversy and rapid decline.

Young’s tenure with the Tennessee Titans was characterized by a deteriorating relationship with head coach Jeff Fisher, stemming from disagreements regarding discipline, playing time, and trust. The documentary features insights from Young and former teammates regarding the locker room environment and the loss of mentor Steve McNair.

Beyond his professional struggles, Young’s financial history is also notable. Despite signing a contract with a potential value of $58 million, only approximately $25.7 million was guaranteed. By January 2014, Young filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, listing assets between $500,000 and $1 million against liabilities ranging from $1 million to $10 million.
