Vincent Battiloro to appear in court for alleged murder of two New Jersey teens

Vincent Battiloro, 18, is scheduled for an in-person arraignment in Elizabeth, New Jersey, following an adult indictment charging him with two counts of first-degree murder. He is accused of intentionally driving a vehicle into 17-year-old best friends Isabella Salas and Maria Niotis while they were riding an e-bike on Burnside Avenue in Cranford last year.

Battiloro was 17 at the time of the incident and was initially charged as a juvenile, but the case is now being prosecuted in adult court. Legal representatives for the Niotis family have alleged a history of harassment involving Battiloro prior to the crash. This Monday hearing marks his first in-person court appearance, as previous proceedings were held virtually.
