Vincent Desharnais to miss 4-6 weeks after emergency appendectomy
Washington Capitals defenseman Vincent Desharnais is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks following an emergency appendectomy performed on Thursday. The 30-year-old defender has appeared in nine games during the current NHL season, recording three assists and averaging over 19 minutes of ice time per game.
Desharnais, a native of Laval, Quebec, signed a four-year contract with the Capitals in the offseason.
