Sat. 1 reportedly tests comeback of cult gameshow ‘Glücksrad’

Sat. 1 is reportedly working on a revival of the classic 1990s gameshow ‘Glücksrad’. Reports indicate that a pilot episode was filmed under strict secrecy in Milan, Italy, on October 21.

Jörg Pilawa is expected to serve as the host for the potential comeback. The move follows the success of the Italian version, ‘La Ruota della Fortuna’, produced by MediaForEurope (MFE), which attracts up to six million viewers during primetime. While Sat. 1 has not officially confirmed the project, the broadcaster stated it regularly tests new shows and programs and will announce new productions in a timely manner.

‘Glücksrad’ was a major hit in Germany between 1988 and 1998, previously hosted by figures such as Frederic Meisner and Peter Bond. The show has seen various revivals over the years on different networks.
