Vincent Kompany honored by Markus Söder at Bavarian Sport Prize

Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder honored FC Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany with the Honorary Prize of the Minister President at the Bavarian Sport Prize in Munich.

Söder praised Kompany not only for his tactical leadership and offensive football philosophy but also for his commitment to social values. Describing the club's evolution, Söder stated that the former 'FC Hollywood' has become 'FC Feelgood,' noting that the team now represents tolerance, humanity, and openness. He specifically highlighted Kompany’s clear stance against racism and exclusion as a key reason for the award.

During his acceptance, Kompany used the platform to advocate for Munich’s candidacy to host the Summer Olympic Games in 2036, 2040, or 2044. The event was attended by several FC Bayern officials, including President Herbert Hainer and former executives Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
