Vincent Kompany hospitalized after collapsing at training

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany was hospitalized after collapsing at the club's training center last Friday. The 40-year-old Belgian coach had been battling a viral infection in the preceding days, which he admitted had caused him to ignore physical warning signs.

Reports indicate that Kompany's intense work schedule may have contributed to the incident. His father, Pierre Kompany, described a routine where the manager works up to 18 hours a day, often being the first to arrive and the last to leave. Additionally, staff and players had reportedly expressed concern regarding his health, noting irregular eating habits, excessive caffeine consumption, and lack of sleep.

Bayern Munich has stated that Kompany is in stable condition but requires medical examinations. Sporting director Max Eberl indicated that the manager's absence from duties is expected to last weeks rather than days to allow for a full recovery.
