Vincent Pastore honored at New Rochelle funeral

Vincent Pastore, the 80‑year‑old actor best known for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos, died on August 1. A private service was held at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle, followed by a public funeral at the Church of the Holy Family. Around 150 mourners, including former co‑stars Steven Van Zandt, Maureen Van Zandt, Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, Al Sapienza and actor Chazz Palminteri, gathered to pay tribute. Van Zandt served as a pallbearer. Pastore’s daughter Renee delivered an emotional speech recalling his generosity. The closed casket was draped with a U.S. flag in recognition of his Vietnam‑War service in the U.S. Navy.
