Vincent Saxon pleads guilty to attempted rape on London Underground
Vincent Saxon, 54, has pleaded guilty to the attempted rape of a woman on a London Underground train. The incident occurred on July 11 at approximately 11:40 p.m. on a Bakerloo line train traveling between Waterloo and Lambeth North.
During the attack, Saxon dragged the lone passenger to the floor of the carriage. The victim resisted and managed to escape the assailant, disembarking at Lambeth North station to alert staff. Saxon fled the train at the subsequent station, Elephant & Castle.
Following an investigation by the British Transport Police, which included a public appeal using CCTV footage, Saxon was identified. He appeared at the Inner London Crown Court, where he was remanded in custody. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 30, and the judge has ordered additional psychiatric and probation reports.
