Genoa approves 90-year surface rights for Luigi Ferraris Stadium redevelopment

The Genoa municipal government has approved a resolution to establish surface rights for the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Villa Musso Piantelli, and surrounding areas for a maximum of 90 years. This move facilitates a major redevelopment project through a public-private partnership, involving an estimated private investment of approximately 108 million euros. Under the agreement, the surface rights will be free for the first 50 years, with payments to the municipality starting from the 51st year. The project aims to modernize the facility for sports and events, including preparations for Euro 2032, while ensuring the municipality retains public ownership of the property.

Other regional sports and infrastructure developments include the reopening of the guest sector at Modica's Pietro Scollo stadium after 20 years, and discussions regarding the construction of the new Partenio-Lombardi Stadium in Avellino. Additionally, the municipality of Morrovalle has completed renovations on tennis facility changing rooms, and the province of Pavia has finished road improvements in the Alta Valle Staffora region.
