Vincenzo De Luca criticizes Campania regional administration

Salerno Mayor Vincenzo De Luca has issued several criticisms against the Campania regional government regarding public transport and social programs.

Addressing the presentation of new Stadler trains for the Circumvesuviana line, De Luca claimed the current regional administration is taking credit for work initiated by his previous administration. He noted that the procurement process, which began in 2019, faced delays due to the pandemic and production shifts, but emphasized that the purchase of the new fleet and the redevelopment of the Porta Nolana station were results of his prior management.

Additionally, De Luca attacked a regional training program for long-term unemployed individuals in Naples. He described the initiative as an “opaque” and “fraudulent program of fake professional training,” alleging that the €8 million project lacks transparency regarding beneficiary selection. He claimed the Ministry of Labour withdrew its support due to irregularities and accused the regional government of prioritizing political allies over genuine job seekers.
