Vincenzo Montella faces resignation calls after Turkey loss to Italy

Following a 4-1 defeat against Italy in the UEFA Nations League, Turkey's national football team faces intense scrutiny. Fans in Bursa called for the resignations of head coach Vincenzo Montella and Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu during the match.

Montella has rejected calls to step down, stating, “I believe in the work I am doing. Our belief in our players continues to the end.” He attributed the performance issues to a lack of familiarity with playing high-level matches every three days and noted a shortage of domestic strikers. He also defended players Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who have been playing out of their natural positions.
