Vincenzo Pagano arrested in Casavatore after two-month manhunt

Vincenzo Pagano, a 62-year-old high-ranking member of the Amato-Pagano Camorra clan, has been arrested in Casavatore after a two-month period of evasion. The arrest was carried out by the Direzione Investigativa Antimafia (DIA) and the Carabinieri of Casoria.

Pagano, known by the alias “Scè Scè” and brother of boss Cesare Pagano, is accused of attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods. Investigators allege that Pagano and his associates targeted two local construction entrepreneurs, demanding both large sums of money and a specific vehicle, an Audi RS3. The investigation revealed that the group used physical violence, including kicking and slapping the victims, to enforce their demands.

Authorities utilized surveillance footage and investigative tracking to locate Pagano in an apartment in via San Pietro. The arrest follows a previous operation in June that saw other associates detained. Law enforcement is now focusing on identifying the network of accomplices who provided logistical support and cover during Pagano’s time as a fugitive.
