Vincenzo Rota disputes Cosenza Calcio ownership deal and debt figures
Lawyer Giuseppe Carratelli, representing entrepreneur Vincenzo Rota, issued a detailed response to a statement released by Cosenza Calcio’s owners. The club’s lawyers claimed the club was ready to sell 100 % of its shares but would not accept “non‑linear” conditions. Rota’s side denied imposing any such conditions and asserted that the club had misrepresented its financial situation.
According to the reply, after an initial meeting on 22 May 2026 attended by legal representatives of both parties, Rota sent a formal letter of intent on 25 May requesting comprehensive accounting data. The club delayed providing the information; when finally sent, the documents showed that the club’s debt was more than double the amount previously presented orally. Rota’s representatives characterized this as a “half‑truth” and called the discrepancy an “abyss.” The dispute centers on the club’s claim of openness to a sale versus the buyer’s allegation of incomplete and misleading financial disclosure.
