Vincenzo Salemme comedy to air on Rai 1

The play “Ogni promessa è debito”, starring Vincenzo Salemme, will be broadcast on Rai 1 on September 5. The production is part of a Rai Cultura project aimed at bringing live theater to television audiences.

The comedy, performed at the Auditorium Rai in Naples, follows Benedetto Croce, a pizzeria owner in Bacoli. After a boating accident leaves him drifting at sea, a semi-conscious Croce makes a religious vow to Sant’Anna, promising to donate 5,557,382.60 euros if he and his companions are rescued.

Upon returning to land, Croce claims he has no memory of the incident due to sleepwalking. This leads to an absurd conflict as his family, the local mayor, the parish priest, and banks all demand to know if the promised millions actually exist.
