Vincenzo Salemme to star in comedy on Rai 5

Vincenzo Salemme will direct and star in the comedy “Ogni promessa è debito,” airing on Rai 5 as part of the Rai Cultura project to bring live theater to television.

The play follows Benedetto Croce, a pizzeria owner from Bacoli, who finds himself in an absurd situation after a boating accident. While drifting at sea and semi-conscious, he makes a religious vow to Sant’Anna, promising to donate 5,557,382 euros and 60 cents in exchange for his rescue.

Upon being saved, Benedetto has no memory of the incident or the vow due to a sleepwalking-like state. This leads to a conflict involving his family, the local mayor, the parish priest, and banks, all of whom demand to know if the promised millions actually exist.
