Vinícius Júnior allegedly told of 2024 Ballon d'Or win before ceremony

Rafa Hermoso, brother of Spanish footballer Jenni Hermoso, has claimed that Vinícius Júnior was informed he would win the 2024 Ballon d'Or prior to the official ceremony in Paris.

According to the account, the Real Madrid attacker had been so certain of the victory that he had already prepared a dedicated space in a display case at his home for the trophy. The report suggests that Vinícius Júnior and Jenni Hermoso had also arranged a symbolic exchange during the event: Hermoso was to present the Ballon d'Or to the Brazilian player, while he would present the Socrates Award to her.

The ceremony's outcome ultimately differed from these expectations, as the award was presented to Rodri of Manchester City. Following the news that Rodri would be the winner, Real Madrid reportedly decided not to send its delegation to the event, resulting in Vinícius Júnior's absence from the ceremony.
